Is this the last collection of Sequin? $302‼️

Aren’t you cold today? When I went outside at 5:15 a.m., I felt the frost piercing through me. Then I looked at the sky. The same sky under which Sequin is waiting for us today. I poured tea into the thermos. Illia packed some kind of derriere and we started the car to warm up a bit. I cast my eyes over the world, which will be squeezed by frost in a moment. Although winter probably won’t come. It hasn’t been coming for years.

Today we are going to pick up Sequin. Big day. The autumn-winter weather brings either salvation or the so-called nothing, that is, the end.

I rub my hands together, grab the handle to the car. Marek with his trailer is already standing behind us. It is still dark. The gate opens and we head out into the world. We move to get Sequin.

You know, I always tell you about this Redemption Day, but today I wanted to tell you briefly about what happens afterwards. In Poland we react very, very emotionally. That’s the kind of nation we are. I personally experience every horse very much. You know it. You probably can’t say otherwise.
Then there is tremendous joy at the assumption that it will succeed. And that’s the huge joy you and I are counting on today. But my counting doesn’t matter here, because what matters is brutal – money. Well, and then they count too, because you see, it is so that the buyout is only the beginning of the rescue. And when a phone call is dropped when we rescue a horse, it’s still dropped a while after the action on the horse. I hope the phone for Sequin will warm up today. Because he needs it like never before in his life. I hope our hands will be burning from answering questions about whether he made it. But that’s not what I wanted to write to you about today anyway. I wanted to write to you about the fact that this phone call will go silent once Sequin gets to us, if he does. We have 1,500 horses in our care. Horses that no longer stir up emotions, they just run around the 400 acres of the reserve and our centers. And I don’t want to ask you today for money for the rest, because today all that matters is him. But I wanted to ask you for something else. If you have the ability, if we can take Sequin somewhere, maybe you would like to adopt him or one of the rescued horses and donkeys. If you have the ability, please do it.

Please do it, because they are more forgotten every day after their action. The fact that we have to maintain them is only one side of the coin. More important is that we are not made of rubber. And just as we used to be able to afford to buy out 50 horses a month, now we only buy out about 20, and that number is dropping. It’s not because our hearts don’t ache when we see that line of horses and donkeys at the dealer’s. Believe me my heart is in pieces then. It’s hard for me to pick up the pieces. As a rule, until the evening. But that’s because we’re not made of rubber. Both in terms of land, stalls, sheds, people to work with and vet bills. It’s no trick to buy up a huge amount, driven by momentary emotions, and then wonder where to get for care, for the vet, for food. For 18 years, we have been trying to take a very responsible approach to the animals we rescue and provide them with the highest possible care.

Today I wanted to ask you, if YOU can adopt one of the horses from us, you will do the same for another one in the same place. And maybe we will be able to help more of them, because what is happening at the fairs and dealers is a real drama.

I’m going today to pick up this Sequin with Illya, and I’m shaking all over, because I know that when I enter this barn, there will already be a dozen or more horses there. If heaven gives, we’ll go out somewhere with Sequin. If YOU think it’s worth it, you’ll support it. If he does, the mass of people reading this message today will. But the truth is that we could do a lot more, we just simply don’t have the space anymore. We have 1,500 horses alone to support. And hundreds of other animals. To illustrate this amount to you, I will say that the average maintenance of one oscillates between $250 and $500, taking into account the more sickly horses. Nowhere in Europe is such an amount – only we here in Poland create the largest asylum for horses in the Old Continent. And today Sequin is standing there waiting for his ticket to that herd. His life is in your hands. And his future too. I’m laying out this message while it’s still dark and you’ll read it when the cool wind is laying down the autumn grasses. When it will be light and everything will be awakening to life.

I beg you to go somewhere with us. Despite this cold and despite this doubt.
Because without you there, our hearts may break into a million pieces, and we may not pick it up.
