The Centaurus Foundation has been operating on behalf of animals since 2006.
We are an international non-profit organization that focuses its activities and projects on animal welfare in various aspects. We have already saved a herd of almost 3000 horses and donkeys, several thousand dogs and cats, as well as hundreds of farm and domestic animals.
This is thanks to almost 1,000,000 Donors from around the world who have been involved in the activities of our organization.
The Animal Farm in Szczedrzykowice (near Legnica), acquired by Centaurus in 2012, is currently the largest sanctuary for horses in Europe, where almost 3,000 hoofed animals and hundreds of other animals are cared for. Additionally, the Foundation manages a over 400-hectare reserve within the Przemków Landscape Park, where hundreds of its horses graze thanks to many years of cooperation with the park’s management.
The Foundation is politically and religiously independent. Its activities are solely carried out thanks to support and donations from individuals, companies, and institutions. Various thematic projects generate income, which is entirely dedicated to achieving statutory goals, maintaining animals at the Farm and in the reserve, as well as providing regular support for educational projects and as aid for other pro-animal organizations.
The Centaurus Foundation operates thanks to the commitment of many volunteers and a few permanent employees. The former are a guarantee of unwavering passion, from which all of Centaurus’s activities stem.
The latter, vetted and with years of experience, provide stability and professional care for our wards in the foundation’s stables, on trails, and in clinics.

One of the priority goals of our foundation, alongside animal rights protection and activities promoting animal-assisted therapy, is supporting other organizations/people whose goals align with our statutory principles.
We support adoptive families in the treatment and care of horses (adoption conditions on the main page in the ‘adoptions’ section). We purchase horses, undergo rehabilitation, provide initial training, and offer them free of charge for hippotherapy.
We organize activities for children and youth at risk of social marginalization. We provide financial, material, and substantive support to organizations with a similar scope of action.
