Some journeys do not begin with a single decision. They begin with a name that keeps coming back. With a message. A photograph. A voice asking for help, and then another, and another, until at last you know exactly where you have to go.
For us, that place is Albania.
For years we have been helping animals far beyond the borders of Poland. We have worked in Romania, Croatia and many other countries, getting to know local problems, the people trying to solve them and the places where support is still lacking. So Albania did not suddenly appear in our work out of nowhere. The subject simply kept returning to us again and again.
And then the voices came.
More and more people began to turn to us with the same request: come, get more involved, start working on the ground. We could not ignore those requests. When people who love animals ask for help so often, you have to listen. And that is exactly what we did.
We got in touch with people who are already helping animals in Albania. Coordinators and local activists – those who are there every day, who see the animals on the streets and do not look away. Together we began to take on one case after another, helping specific animals and looking for real solutions to the problems they face every day.
We are still getting to know Albania, its reality and the true scale of need. You cannot learn that from a distance. It takes time, trust and people on both sides who want to build something together. And that is exactly what is starting to happen.
We have also received an early invitation to an important conference on animal welfare, which will take place in Albania in October. For us it is another step towards making contact with those working on the ground and extending our help to exactly where it is truly beginning to be needed. A room full of people who care about this issue is a place where lasting change so often begins.
And the first results are already here.
You can already follow them on our profiles. Mali. Bianka. Roxy. And many other animals whose stories we are sharing with you as they unfold. All of them come from Albania. It is their health and their future that we are fighting for, together with the people helping on the spot. Behind each of these names is a living animal who not long ago had no one. Now they have a whole network of people who refuse to accept their fate.
You can see it in them, too. An animal who arrived terrified and exhausted is slowly learning that a human hand can be gentle. A story that began in the most difficult circumstances is now, day by day, heading towards something better. This is what it looks like when help finally arrives.
In this way Albania has become another direction for our work, one that emerged naturally from what we have been doing for years. From contacts, requests for help, specific animals and people who are there every day and want to change something. Now we too want to be part of that change.
Because that is exactly what the motto “Animals Without Borders” means. An animal has no passport and does not belong to any particular country. Suffering looks the same on both sides of every border. And wherever people ask for help, we want to give it.
None of this would be possible without you. Every case we take on, every animal we fight for, is thanks not only to the people working on the ground, but also to your support. Time and again we have seen how much can change when good people simply refuse to give up. That is why we have no intention of stopping. Albania is another point on the map, another place that hope has reached, and we will keep reaching further, for as long as there is an animal somewhere waiting for someone to help them.
