❗️BONO. WHAT IS HIDDEN UNDER THIS WHITE COAT?

Bono’s teeth are in such terrible condition that they were described to us in a single word: “disaster.” His mouth requires a thorough evaluation and treatment. And that is just the beginning of a long list of things that need to be taken care of when it comes to him.

Then there are the blood test results. Tragic. Following them are further tests, searching for the causes of the abnormalities, and figuring out how to help his body. The problems of this little dog go much deeper than what you can see in the photo.

And then there are his claws. Neglected, long, hard talons. Another trace of how utterly basic care was lacking for him.

I look at Bono and I think about how much suffering lies in the things that simply weren’t done for an animal. His mouth wasn’t seen to. His claws weren’t cared for, nor were his basic needs. That is how he came out of a puppy mill. Now, we have to deal with the visible neglect and what the tests have revealed.

When it came to Bono, money was only supposed to flow in one direction. Toward the human. Because in a puppy mill, a dog is primarily supposed to turn a profit. Yet something should flow back the other way, too. Care, tests, treatment, an interest in how the animal is feeling. Except that means expenses. And a money-making machine is supposed to generate money. It is very bitter to write such sentences when you have a living dog right in front of your eyes.

Today, we are asking you for money that will finally be spent on him.

We need funds for consultations, in-depth diagnostics, and establishing a treatment plan. We want to pay for further laboratory tests, and if the doctors indicate the need, also a urinalysis, an ultrasound, and additional consultations. To find out where such poor results come from and what kind of help his body needs. To have the ability to perform the recommended tests precisely when they are needed.

Treatment will follow. Prescribed medications, subsequent visits, follow-up tests, and monitoring how Bono reacts to them. We want to be able to follow the recommendations even when they need to be changed or the diagnostics expanded. If it turns out he needs IV drips or a stay at the clinic, we must have the funds for that as well. We are fundraising to guide him from these poor results, through diagnosis and therapy, to subsequent check-ups. So that the help has a continuation.

On top of that, there are his teeth. We want to pay for a dental evaluation, qualification for the procedure, and preparation taking his general health into account. If the doctors decide that he first needs treatment and improved test results, we want to be able to provide that for him. Later, the necessary procedure itself, potential tooth extraction, and post-operative care. With this little dog, many things will need to be looked after. Each of them means time, work, and money.

Bono has a light coat, dark eyes, and a whole life that we would dearly love to change for him. It is easy to picture him in someone’s home. By his own bowl, on a dog bed, with a person who knows his habits. Today, however, we have the test results in front of us and the need to provide him with treatment. That is precisely where the road to such a future begins.

And this is precisely where we really need you.

For years, you have been helping us guide animals through treatment. Afterward, you look at their photos from adoptive homes. On a walk, on the couch, on someone’s lap. There is so much ordinariness in these photographs—the very ordinariness we fought for together beforehand. We would love to show you such a life for Bono one day as well. So that we can talk about what he likes, where he rests most willingly, and how he settled in with his human. So that his story can finally move beyond the vet’s office.

Chip in 10, 20 PLN or any amount for Bono. Help us pay for further diagnostics, recommended treatment, follow-up tests, and dental care. Share his story with someone who might also join in. We need people thanks to whom he can be cared for as thoroughly as he requires.

Bono was supposed to be profitable for the human.

Now, let the human do something that will be good for Bono.
