To the rescue of cats

It sits by the stable wall. It doesn’t approach. It doesn’t meow. It doesn’t even run away. It just watches. Silently. Carefully. At first glance – “an ordinary kot”. But when you get closer, you see more: an emaciated body, dull fur, eyes that say one thing – I survived, but barely.

There are dozens like him here. We are Fundacja Centaurus. For over 20 years, we have been rescuing animals and have created the world’s largest sanctuary for horses and donkeys in Poland – today, nearly 1500 rescued lives live here. But between the stables, warehouses, and buildings, there is another world. Quieter. Less visible.

The world of kotów. They don’t ask. They don’t line up at the gate. They don’t look into your eyes like dogs do. They just are.

They roam between the buildings. They sleep in the hay. They appear in the evening when it gets quieter. Some of them have been with us for years. Others come only for a moment – for food, for shelter, for a break from the street. Many of them are kotów with a past. Sick. Old. Wild. Wounded by people or life.

Every day we do what we can for them. We feed them. We catch them for treatment. We sterilize them so that no more kittens are born doomed to the same fate. We react when one of them stops eating, disappears, or suffers. But the truth is simple: there are more and more of them. One summer, over 100 new kotów appeared in one center. One hundred stories. One hundred lives. One hundred problems that needed to be solved immediately.

Some found homes. Many stayed with us. Because they had nowhere to go. Today they live because they have us. And we… need you.

This fundraiser is concrete help for the kotów that are here now and those that will appear:

20 zł – that’s a few days of a full bowl for one kot
50 zł – that’s a supply of food for those who come daily
100 zł – that’s a vet visit and basic treatment
200 zł and more – that’s a real contribution to sterilization or saving a sick kot

Monthly, it’s over 10 000 zł. That’s how much their daily survival costs.

Without this… we won’t make it. Among them are kotów that cannot see. Those that walk on three legs. Those that will never be fully healthy again. But there are also those that need only one thing: a bowl of food. Today. Tomorrow. The day after tomorrow. Because hunger returns every day.
