❗️SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO GROW INTO A GIANT. TODAY HER ENTIRE LIFE WEIGHS 350 GRAMS❗️
Maine Coons are called gentle giants.
Mirabelka is four weeks old. She should just be getting to know the world, chasing her own tail, climbing on everything bigger than her, and falling asleep cuddled with her mom.
Instead, she lies on a table in the clinic.
She weighs 350 grams.
As much as a small cup of tea.
She has an IV cannula on her front paw, next to tests, syringes, and tubes. She looks at the doctors with huge eyes, as if trying to understand why the person who brought her here will not come back for her.
Because Mirabelka was bought from a backyard breeder.
She was supposed to be a Maine Coon. A fluffy, beautiful, impressive cat of one of the most desired breeds. Maybe she was supposed to grow fast, delight guests, and look good in photos. We don’t know that exactly.

What we do know is what happened when she got sick.
The owner brought her to the clinic.
He didn’t want to treat her.
He left her.
Just like that.
The four-week-old kitten turned out to be a purchase that required additional payment. And since she required treatment, she was no longer needed.
When the owner left, we came in.

The doctors measured Mirabelka’s temperature. 36 degrees. Her tiny body was hypothermic and severely dehydrated. Her mucous membranes were dry, her belly distended, her skin barely returned to its place. Mirabelka was so dehydrated that it was not even possible to draw her blood for tests.
And yet, there is little blood in her.
Just like strength.
The test showed the presence of feline coronavirus. An intravenous line was immediately inserted. Mirabelka received glucose, warmed fluids, an antibiotic, a probiotic, and antiparasitic drugs. She was warmed up. She needs to be fed special milk and every meal must be monitored, because at her age, one bad day can take everything away.
Look at her.

At this paw wrapped in a bandage. At her eyes, which are definitely too big for such a tiny head. At her fur, under which a strong cat should be growing, but today houses a hypothermic, wasted body.
Mirabelka doesn’t understand backyard breeding.
She doesn’t know what the trend for purebred cats is. She doesn’t know how much she was supposed to cost or how beautiful she should be for a human to want to keep her.
She only knows that her tummy hurts, that it’s cold, and that every now and then hands appear above her head.
Now these hands no longer put her down like a failed purchase.
They warm her. They administer medication. They feed her. They check her breathing. They fight for every next day.

Mirabelka was supposed to grow into a giant.
For now, she has to grow until tomorrow.
Then until the day after tomorrow.
And for one more day.
That’s why I’m asking you for help today. Ahead of her are further treatment, control tests, subsequent visits, medications, specialized nutrition, and care, without which such a small organism may not cope.
Donate a few zlotys for her. Share her story. Stop by her, even for a moment.
Let’s not allow the last person she remembers to be the one who left her on the clinic table.
Let her remember you too.
A person who didn’t ask if it was worth saving 350 grams of life.
Simply helped.
