Fighting for life October 12, 2026 Ends November 15, 2026

❗️The tumor has pierced BALU’s nose. We are collecting 3000 zł for the fight to stop it❗️

Balu has an open wound in the middle of his muzzle. A severe infection destroyed tissues and pierced the bridge of his nose, leaving a deep hole in his face. Beneath it, in the oral and nasal cavity, a tumor is developing. This is not just an ordinary wound that simply needs to be cleaned and secured. This is the beginning of a long fight for Balu’s health and life. Look again, a little higher. Above the wound are still the eyes of a dog looking at a human without anger. As if he was still waiting for something good to finally happen to him.

Balu lived like this on the streets of Dhangadhi in Nepal. Days passed, the infection destroyed his face, and he still had to look for food, a place to rest, and a way to survive with pain he couldn’t describe to anyone. That evening, local activists took three dogs off the street. Balu was one of them. When you look at one photo, you see one suffering dog. They opened the car and saw three lives for which they had to take responsibility from that moment on. Balu allowed himself to be picked up, his sore head touched, and his wound examined. He traveled three hours to the clinic, still trusting the hands that had been absent from him for so long before.

This is why we are involved in helping animals in Asia. We cooperate with local activists, support treatment, organize transports, and look for adoptions. Thanks to this, help doesn’t start thousands of kilometers away. It starts exactly where the animal is suffering. Sometimes on the street, sometimes in the back seat of a car traveling through half the region, and sometimes at a metal table where the doctor cleans the wound for the first time. You too can be a part of this journey. You don’t have to be in Nepal for your help to reach there. It can turn into an antibiotic, an examination, a dressing, or another dose of chemotherapy.

At the clinic, cleaning of the open lesion and fighting the powerful infection began immediately. Tests confirmed CTVT, a transmissible venereal tumor found in dogs. In Balu, the disease affected the oral and nasal cavity, and a severe secondary infection led to tissue breakdown and perforation of the bridge of the nose. Now, no stage can be skipped. First, antibiotics, medications, regular wound cleaning, and intensive body support. Only after the infection is controlled will Balu be able to start chemotherapy. Ahead of him are further tests, check-ups, and weeks of treatment in the only center in the region capable of providing him with such advanced help.

We want you to remember Balu not just from this photograph. Try to see him a few weeks later. A wound from which pus no longer flows. Tissues that are slowly beginning to rebuild. A muzzle that can be touched without causing another wave of pain. A bowl that Balu approaches without the disease occupying his oral cavity. And those same eyes, but now belonging to a dog that doesn’t have to fight for survival on the street every day. This is the image we want to bring him to. We won’t promise you it will be easy. However, we can promise that we will use every opportunity his body gives us.

Today Balu needs you. Your help can pay for antibiotics, chemotherapy, diagnostics, medications, dressings, and veterinary care. It can give him the time needed to stop the tumor and allow the damaged tissues to begin to heal. Balu carried this disease alone for too long. Now we will carry it with him. Help us close the wound that the tumor opened and make his face stop telling only of pain.
