An apartment where 34 cats got something they never had before – a human who didn’t abandon them.

Today we will tell you about someone special. Not about a shelter. Not about a foundation. About an elderly woman who every day does things greater than her strength allows.

We met her during our last trip for dogs, which we took from Ukraine to Poland after treatment, to find them adoptive homes. Wiktoria and Marysia were there at the time, driving around the area, looking for animals in need of help.

And then something happened that none of us planned.

We stopped by a shop because there was a dog standing next to it. A moment later, the saleswoman came out to feed him. We started talking. We said we were a foundation from Poland. And then we heard about an elderly lady who takes care of 34 cats.

Not “used to have”.
Not “feeds them sometimes”.
She has them all with her.
She takes care of them every day. Alone.

We went there.

Mrs. Neli opened the door for us – small, smiling, a little embarrassed that someone had come to her. And then we went inside and saw something we couldn’t stop thinking about for a long time.

34 cats.

Older ones separately. Younger ones separately. On the balcony, a cat after treatment. Everywhere bowls, beds, small traces of daily care. This was not a random collection of animals. This was a life dedicated to ensuring each of them survived.

And suddenly we understood something very simple.
This woman gave these cats everything.

Her time.
Her pension.
Her apartment.
Her life.

She knows each cat by its story. She knows who is afraid of what, who was sick, who came extremely starved, who doesn’t trust people. She told us about them for hours.

And there wasn’t an ounce of tiredness in it.
Only love.

We asked what she needed.
And the answer was so modest it was hard to hear: food, litter, maybe a scratching post. Money for treatment. For castrations.

Nothing for herself.

When we left, we couldn’t stop thinking about her. Wiktoria and Marysia cried. We knew it couldn’t end with just one visit.
We went to the shop, bought food, litter, and things for the cats. We returned to Mrs. Neli.

And if you had seen her face then.

It was an emotion that cannot be faked. She kept repeating that it was a special day, that someone had made a holiday for her and her cats.

And the cats?

They didn’t leave the scratching post. They played like children who got something of their own for the first time. And that’s why we are here today.

Because back then we only helped for a moment. It was a small help, a quick breath, a few days of peace. But we promised Mrs. Neli that we would return with greater support.

And today we really want to ask you for that.

Especially Wiktoria and Marysia, who were there, who saw it, and who to this day cannot forget the eyes of that woman and those cats.

Mrs. Neli continues to fight for 34 lives every day. Alone. On a small pension, in a country where people often lack strength even for themselves.
And yet she continues to open her doors to more animals in need.
