One thing, however, we know for sure.
This work makes sense.
Because every saved creature is a real change.
Because every presence on site allows more lives to be saved.
Because if we are not there, these animals will be left to fend for themselves.
That is why we are asking for real support today.
It’s not about declarations.
Not “someday”.
If you want to be part of this change.
If you want to help horses living under the pyramids.
If you want treatment to replace suffering.
Join this charity action.
Help us return.
Help us treat.
Help us change reality where no one has done so for years.
Egipt will not wait.
We also know that together we can achieve more. ❤️
The Centaurus Foundation has been operating since 2006. For almost twenty years, we have been present where animals cease to have any meaning in any system. In Poland and beyond its borders.
Egipt is one of the most difficult directions we have ever taken.

Not tomorrow.
Not when the topic briefly returns to the public’s attention.
Not when someone remembers, even for a moment, the animals living under the pyramids.
Help is needed here and now.
We have a place where we can act. We have people on site. We have a real chance to treat, react, and change what has been considered the norm there for years.
And that is why we are returning to Egypt.

Because there are still horses working, even though their bodies should have rested long ago. Because donkeys collapse in the streets, and no one even stops. Because there are dogs that learn every day that humans mean danger. Because there are places where one decision and the right tools can save a life.
We are not starting from scratch.
We are not creating everything from the ground up.
We are not checking if “it is even possible”.
We are already there.
We have been there for years.
And today we are taking another step.

Because in Egypt, changes do not happen through words. They only happen when someone is truly on site.
We act. We react. We take responsibility.
That is why we are returning with a very specific goal.
It must be said clearly: Egypt is one of the most difficult places we know for animal welfare activities.
Horses there serve almost as an element of infrastructure. They are expected to work. To pull. To transport. To earn money. Day after day, in the same rhythm, regardless of their health condition. When pain, lameness, or visible weakness appears, the question is not: “what should we do?”, but “how much longer can it be used?”.
We did not see concern there.
We noticed a habit.
Frequent leg wounds.
Frequent chafing caused by harnesses.
A custom whereby horses can barely stand on their feet, yet are forced to work.
The way horses are shod very often exacerbates the problem instead of solving it. Hooves are burdened with makeshift solutions. Materials are chosen not to protect, but simply to “make it work somehow”. As a result, the animals move in constant pain, with damaged joints and irreversible changes.
Donkeys are treated even worse.

Not as living beings, but as disposable tools.
When it can no longer cope, it simply disappears.
Another takes its place.
Without thought.
Without responsibility.
Without any consequences.
Dogs in Egypt are not a neutral element of the space.
They are unwanted.
There is no room for indifference there.
Hostility prevails.
We saw dogs being driven away with stones from shops and homes. Not because they were aggressive, but simply because they existed. We saw dogs that had learned to flee at the sound of footsteps. Dogs that do not approach food because experience has taught them that a human hand often brings pain.
There were also situations that can only be described as violence for entertainment. Dogs were beaten, kicked, and dragged on the ground. Not to “solve a problem”, but to show dominance over the weaker.

After dark, many of these animals simply disappear.
They do not return in the morning.
And no one asks questions.
Because in this system, questions are not needed.
Under the pyramids and far beyond, the same rule applies.
Every animal serves a function.
When it stops serving that function, it loses its significance.
We have been to many places where no one wanted cameras or outsiders. We encountered reluctance, tension, and sometimes even overt hostility. Because looking means responsibility. And responsibility means change.
And yet we were there.
And we are returning.
For we know that without a continuous presence, nothing changes.
Because we are not coming here for images.
We are coming here for real action.
In Egypt, animal care is not a given.
It is an exception.
That is why one of the most important reasons for our return is treatment based on knowledge, not guesswork. Treatment that is not based on assumptions, but on diagnosis. On research. On responsible decisions.

During our work under the pyramids, we met people who, despite difficult conditions and pressure, try to act differently. People who take in horses in a state of extreme exhaustion. People who see the effects of years of neglect and wrong decisions. People who want to treat animals but often do not have the appropriate means to do so.
In Egipt, treatment is very often based on “intuition”.
Without tests.
Without blood tests.
Without knowledge of the condition of internal organs.
This leads to errors.
Incorrect dosages.
Improperly selected medications.
Antibiotics administered blindly.
Blood parasites destroying the body for many months.
That is why a biochemical blood analyzer is so important.
This device allows veterinarians to assess the functioning of the liver, kidneys, and other organs. It enables the selection of safe treatment, monitoring progress, and taking immediate action before it’s too late.
Thanks to this, approximately 35 blood tests can be performed daily. Not only for horses that have already lost consciousness, but also for those that are still standing, still working, and still have a chance for real help.
It’s the difference between treatment and guesswork.
Between a chance and a risk.
The cost of such an analyzer is approximately 12,000 euro. In local realities, this is a huge expense, which is why one of our goals is also to support the purchase of this equipment, which can truly change the standard of care for horses under the pyramids.

This fundraiser aims to enable us to return to Egipt.
To be on site.
For treatment.
To help.
To support those who fight for animal rights every day in the most difficult conditions.
