❗️Nelly from Egypt. She was supposed to learn street life. She didn’t have time.
Nelly had a person. Taken in as a puppy, she grew up during a paid stay at a clinic. Until the fees became too high. Then the woman took her out onto the street and started feeding her there. She still brought her food. But between one meal and the next, Nelly was left in a world she didn’t know before. Among cars, strange animals and people. Suddenly she had to learn everything her safety depended on.
She didn’t have time.
Her fate was told to us by our activist, into whose care Nelly came. The dog was hit by a car and lost her mobility. After the accident, her previous carer was told by the vet that Nelly might never walk again. That is the information our help starts with today. With a dog that still needs people, and with a question we want a reliable answer to: what possibilities she still has ahead of her.
These too are the realities we encounter in Egypt. A dog can have a person who brings it food and still live on the street. Feeding helps it survive another day, but it doesn’t stop cars. It doesn’t provide shelter or help after an accident. For Nelly, that is exactly how this attempt at independent life ended. She was left with a disabled body and an even greater dependence on people than before.

Now she needs people to stay by her side.
We want to help with a thorough assessment of her current condition and treatment options. She needs an examination, an assessment of the effects of the injury and a plan for what to do next. If the vet recommends a neurological consultation or additional imaging, we want to be able to fund it. To find out what can be improved, what limitations may remain and how to take care of Nelly so that she receives help suited to her needs.
Then we will have to move from recommendations to daily work. Pay for prescribed medicines, trips to appointments, check-ups. If Nelly qualifies for rehabilitation, help provide her with regular sessions and specialist care. Also check whether properly chosen mobility aids could make her life easier. We want to use the possibilities the vets point out and make sure the help lasts longer than one visit.
Because Nelly needs care between examinations too.

A comfortable, dry bed. Skin care and protection against sores. Help moving around if she can’t manage on her own. Food and water within reach. A person who will notice if she gets worse, react and take her to the vet. With a disabled dog, it is precisely these daily tasks that make up comfort and safety. That requires funds too.
That’s how much we can begin to change in her life. Together with you.
For years you have been helping us work in Egypt. Thanks to your support we can get involved in more stories and support the people caring for animals there. Today we ask you for help for Nelly. For funds for diagnostics, the recommended treatment, possible rehabilitation and further care.
We want to fight to improve her mobility, and at the same time take care of every day she is living right now.

She has already lost her place once because keeping it became too expensive. We very much want to help provide her with care she can rely on. Also when this fundraiser ends and her needs still remain.
If you can, donate 10 or 20 zł or any amount for Nelly. Together these donations will fund tests, visits, prescribed medicines and daily help. Share her story. Pass it on to friends who can also join in. That’s how we reach more people and how it becomes possible to pay for the next stage of care.
We would love to show you what we have managed to do for her. To tell you about her progress, about easier movement, about comfortable rest. About Nelly, whose life is finally starting to be arranged around her needs.
Help us give her that chance.
