Six years of life together and one moment that stopped everything

I want to tell you about him, but what I really want is for you to see for a moment that instant when a dog is still running like always in the morning – and a day later can no longer get up.

Tymek was always everywhere.

Toys. Cuddles. Joy at the sight of his people. The kind of dog that can’t walk past a person indifferently and that lives with his whole being – fast, intensely, close.

And suddenly something happened.

First a slight limp. Nothing that signals disaster. A visit to the vet, medication, hope that in a moment everything will be back to normal.

But the next day his hind legs stop obeying him.

Tymek tries to walk – and drags them behind him.

And there is something terribly hard to bear in this, because you see a dog that wants to get up. That still thinks it can. But its body suddenly stops cooperating.

From that moment the fight begins.

More clinics. Tests. X-rays. Neurological consultations. Hours of waiting and ever harder words. A disc in his spine is pressing on the spinal cord and taking away his ability to walk normally. There are also problems with urination, pain, stress and a body that is starting to be overloaded with medication.

And despite all this, Tymek keeps fighting.

Every day he gets medication. He is catheterised. He goes for laser therapy. Every slightest movement of a hind leg becomes something huge, because it gives hope that it can all still come back.

And it is this hope that his people hold on to every day.
Because Tymek is not “just a dog”.

He is their family. Their fur child.
A companion of 6 years of life.

And now they are at a point where love is no longer enough to cover everything that needs to be done next.

More visits, diagnostics, rehabilitation, medication and possible surgery — the costs are growing faster than they can bear. And yet, despite their exhaustion, they keep fighting every day for every little bit of progress.

And this is exactly that moment.
The moment when Tymek really needs people outside his home.
