ROMANIA. A SHELTER ON THE BRINK OF COLLAPSE. 100 DOGS WITH NOWHERE TO GO.
Update:
❗️Romania. Our help continues.❗️
Every day we receive more photos and news from Romania. Behind each of them is another dog in need of help – treatment, food, a safe shelter or simply a chance at life.
Our campaign in Romania is still ongoing.
Together with local partners, we keep helping dogs that would be left alone without this help. They come under the care of vets, receive treatment, get food and have a chance to start their lives again.
This is not a one-off intervention.
It is daily work that goes on even when you don’t see it at the top of our social media. Every new day means new reports, new needs and more animals waiting to be rescued.
Thank you to everyone who supports our mission in Romania. It is thanks to you that we can stay on the ground and help where help is needed most.
There is still a lot of work ahead of us. We are not stopping and we keep working for the dogs of Romania.

We are in Romania once again. Thanks to your support, we can help animals and support shelters and the people who fight every day for their lives and survival.

————————————————————————————————-
Today we want to draw your attention to one Romanian shelter that we came to know through people working locally. A place that is still running – but only because someone still refuses to give up. Without real support from outside, this shelter may simply cease to exist.

It cares for more than 100 dogs.
There is no team of volunteers here.
No financial backing.
No systemic help.
There is Monika.
Monika is 76 years old. She recently had surgery on her hip, which she broke during her daily work feeding the animals. The shelter grounds are difficult, uneven, unadapted and in need of urgent repairs. Despite pain and physical limitations, every day Monika does everything she can so that the dogs have food, water and at least a minimal sense of safety. Her only help is her nephew.

This shelter is operating at the absolute limit of endurance.
Every day is a balancing act between “we can still manage” and “tomorrow it could all collapse”.
There is a shortage of funds for food, treatment, maintaining the infrastructure and securing the grounds. The cold season deepens the crisis – it makes access harder, increases costs, and the lack of stable support makes the collapse of this place a real scenario, not an imaginary threat.

The situation is further complicated by a lack of understanding in the local community. Instead of help, there is often indifference, and sometimes hostility. The dogs and one elderly woman are left with all of this almost on their own.
That is why we are launching this fundraiser.
Its goal is not “something more”.
Its goal is to stop the shelter from collapsing and allow it to keep running.
We are raising funds for:
– food for more than 100 dogs,
– basic veterinary care,
– securing and maintaining the grounds,
– real relief for Monika, who today carries this burden almost alone.
