You are meeting Dante at the hardest moment of his life. He is so dehydrated and malnourished that he doesn’t have the strength to stand on his paws. He has severe eye and mouth infections, and the test results also showed FeLV and FIV.

You look at his photos and immediately see a whole list of problems. So long that the cat himself disappears somewhere behind it. What remains are sick eyes, matted fur, an extremely weakened body. And yet under all of this there is Dante. And it is him we are fighting for today.

Earlier he had ended up at a clinic about which Alba says plainly that animals are put to sleep there far too easily. And that is how it was going to be this time too. When she got the news about Dante, she set off to get him. And when she saw him, she took him straight to her own vet. A week of hospitalisation was necessary.

That’s the Alba we know. Our eyes, hands and determination in Spain. In shelters, in surgeries, with animals that need to be taken away and found help. Today she is with Dante. She has taken over his care and organised his treatment. Now we want to stand beside her together with you.

Because this cat still needs a great deal. The infections must be brought under control, his eyes and mouth taken care of, he must be fed and helped to regain his strength. We want to live to see the moment when he gets up on his own and walks over to his bowl. With Dante, a few such steps will be big news. Today his body is still too weak.

We don’t want his whole life to fit into a few words now: old, malnourished, FeLV, FIV. For a full stop to be put after such a list. Alba has already shown that more can be done for him. Take him. Drive him to the vet. Start treatment. Stay with him.
