Cats

Cats are everywhere. In backyards, in basements, in car parks, in the ruins of old buildings, on the outskirts of towns and in small villages where nobody counts any more how many of them there really are. Millions of free-roaming cats live in Poland, and a large proportion of them will never see a vet.

It is estimated that there may be as many as 600 million homeless cats in the world. Each of them has a story that nobody wrote down and that often nobody wants to see. For years, Fundacja Centaurus has been working for paws and tails. Thanks to the help of people like you, we have already taken thousands of cats into our care. We support them every day, not only in Poland but in many places around the world. We pick them up from the streets, from roadsides, from empty plots, from places where nobody asks about their fate. We treat, sterilise, feed, and look for homes or safe places to live. Sometimes, however, we have to do the hardest thing of all. Help them leave with dignity, when vets say plainly that the level of suffering has crossed the ethical line.

This fundraiser is for them. For the cats the world has left somewhere between the pavement and the rubbish bin. For those whose photos you see here, whom we have already helped, but also for those we don’t know yet, who will end up in our hands tomorrow. Because when it comes to saving cats, there is very often no time for decisions that take days or for planning fundraisers. Sometimes hours count. We are raising 5 000 zł so that we can react immediately. To pay the clinics, give treatment, and give a chance at life to those who only yesterday were just a shadow on the pavement. Every year, millions of homeless cats are born in the world, and only a small percentage of them will ever receive human help. That is why every złoty really makes a big difference here.

If you can join this campaign, please do it for them. Without you they have no chance. And as you read this letter, I’d bet a cup of tea that we are sitting at the clinic with yet another cat and the question comes: do we treat and you pay on the spot, or euthanasia? Give them a chance with us.
