I was born here, right here on this concrete.
I was born just few days ago.

Mom looked at me sadly from the moment I opened my eyes and my legs shook.
And all the time my own mother looks at me with curiosity when I pretend to sleep.

And my mother too.
I know everything that will happen.

I try not to panic.
But I feel my nostrils shaking and my legs shaking. They are short but they also shake.

I wanted to ask you to hold me when they come for us. Grab my mane, just not too tight. Or stroke my hoof so I know you’re there.

Pet my mom too.
No one has ever petted my mother…

So come with us through this mud.
Come and hold me until the end.
Tell me that it will be fine so I can believe you and so will my brave mother.
