Jeremiasz, the doctor’s horse, is fighting. For life, for $450 in 72 hours❗️

According to the Hippocratic Oath, taken by all doctors, they should work for the sake of health. Only animals probably do not fit into this pool.

The trader laughs and says: This horse could not have come to a worse place. A doctor with an elegant office and a waiting room usually full of people. Crowds, even. Family tradition, a famous name and a huge career. But in the back, behind the beautiful house – a small shed. A shed where an embarrassing problem was hiding. Jeremiasz.

Jeremiasz was not what he should have been from birth. The doctor’s father ran a home pony farm, but – as the dealer says – he died. The doctor didn’t really care about what was left of his father in the small, dilapidated barn. He rarely even looked in there. And the effects didn’t take long to appear. The dealer says that he took his mother, who was lying down, a few days earlier. But after some thought, the doctor called and asked – as the dealer quotes – to “clean up the mess that was left there”.

That mess was precisely little Jeremiasz, who had never seen light, grass or felt the wind in his life. Since the old man died, someone would occasionally throw in some water and some straw. Jeremiasz was there with his mother, but a few days ago he was left completely alone. His world, I think, has ended.

But it didn’t last long, this end of the world, because they came to “clean him up”. He couldn’t walk very well, so two peasants took him and threw him on a truck. And he watched him drive away, and his small, miserable barn grew smaller and smaller behind the bars.

So meet Jeremiasz. Jeremiasz, who fate threw not where he should be, and not to those who should be. What shocks us is that although we understand that sometimes you can have no money, – as the trader said at the end – it didn’t end up in a poor man. Jeremiasz was almost killed by indifference. Almost, because it killed his mother to the end.

Today this little pony is at the dealer’s and there is nothing in front of him. We tried to get the doctor’s phone number to force him to buy the pony and give it to us, but there is no way. Personal data protection, etc.

The dealer has become reluctant to talk and almost threw us out of the yard, because that’s how it is in the villages. One hand washes the other. Nobody wants problems and everyone wants to continue doing their business.

I stand before you today at the side of little Jeremiasz and I ask you – let’s erase together the indifference that is coming for him. Because when it reaches him and takes him in its arms, it will be too late for everything.

Maybe it’s also worth reminding some of you what Hippocrates said, because he was a wise guy. And if our goal – because we are doctors, for example – is to support others, then if we do it from the heart, it is shameful to exclude any being from this group.

But now it’s just you – and Jeremiasz is looking at you today. There is no intrusiveness in this, there is only a quiet plea.

We have 72 hours to collect $450 and put it down. That’s all – and that’s all.
