Bakus friends are already dead. He’s still standing.
A rope around his head.
The barn is locked.
Fences everywhere.
Not a farm-a fortress.
Warsaw area.
And the atmosphere is reminiscent of the times when life was worth its weight in meat.
Bakus.
A child in a horse’s body.
He was supposed to go to recreation.
He was supposed to live.
But the plan changed.
Because we need money yesterday.
Not tomorrow.
Not for vacation.
The Bakus doesn’t fit.
Too big for children.
Too small for adults.
Too ordinary to be profitable.
Too vibrant to be comfortable.
He looks into the lens.
He spins.
He doesn’t understand.
We drove hundreds of kilometers.
Snow.
Fog.
Silence.
And he—alone.
His herd has already left.
He will go next.
Today.
Today we can stop this.
For Bakus.
For the kid no one wants.
