Bobas
Needs help
October 16, 2025

In 2011, we met Bobas – face to face – at a BP gas station near Warsaw, near Nasielsk.
Someone had left him there. He’d been lying under the pump for several days.

At the time, we were renting a facility in Nasielsk, and the guys went to get fuel for their tractor. They called me from the station and asked:
“Can we take the dog to the farm? He’s been lying here for a few days. The staff wants to take him to a shelter, but judging by his face, he’s the kind of dog that probably won’t find adoption. But we petted him, and he turned out to be very sociable.”

And so, that day – almost 14 years ago – Bobas came to us and lived among the horses.
He was a joy to be with. He’s our Centaurus legend.

He never found adoption, even though we tried many times to find one. He was one of those dogs who was always looking for trouble, yet had the biggest heart in the world.
People who came to adopt him were looking for dogs for fighting or protection. And Bobas, despite his appearance, was simply a dog with a heart on his paw.

I remember once – back at our palace on Animal Farm – he broke away from us petting and ran inside. We were terrified because there were cats inside. We ran after him, and he… carried the kittens out one by one in his mouth.

Gently. Carefully. With tenderness.

He brought them down to our laps and then lay down next to us – as if to say, “Now, they’re safe.”

He was gentle, smart, and loyal. But also incredibly mischievous.
Something was always happening to him – once an accident and a splint in his leg, once a broken paw, once he ate something and no one knew what. But death didn’t take the Bobas.

He always got back up. He always came back.

He was the good spirit of every center he lived in.
He ran freely around the grounds, watching over all the animals, all of us.

When he started having vision problems and had difficulty navigating large spaces, we took him to a smaller facility. There, he goes for walks on a leash for safety.

We’re no longer looking for a home for him – we know he belongs here. That he came to us and will stay with us until the end.

Recently, Bobas has been feeling unwell again. At the clinic, it turned out that the leg where he was previously braced had become inflamed, and he also had spleen cancer.
The vet said that at his age, it’s best to just leave it alone – but if the cancer starts to cause him pain, we’ll have to take him across the Rainbow Bridge together.

For now, however, Bobas is alive, wagging his tail, and has an appetite.
We want to strengthen him, take care of his leg, and give him as much warmth and comfort as possible – just as he has given us and all the animals at Centaurus all these years.

That’s why we’re asking for help today for Bobas.

We’re raising $412 for:
• specialized food,
• treatment and vet visits,
• all necessary medications,
• and a warm, orthopedic bed where our faithful guardian can rest peacefully.

Perhaps someone would like to virtually adopt Bobas – become his guardian for the last months, or perhaps even years, of his life.
We’d be incredibly grateful for any help, every penny, every kind word.

“Not all angels have wings. Some have four legs, gray muzzles, and eyes that look straight into the soul.”

Let’s help Bobas live out his final years with dignity.
For him, it’s “just” a bed and a bowl of food.
For us, it’s gratitude for 14 years of service, loyalty, and a heart bigger than the world. ❤️

Check out Bobas from 2013
