Of course, most of this is for Gwiazdor. See, he still has a Christmas name, and he’s already so un-Christmasy. Although there’s quite a bit of snow here and there.

Gwiazdor survived the holidays, he survived New Year’s Day, but he won’t live to see Valentine’s Day. In fact, he’ll live to see this evening, or maybe Monday, if we call the dealer on the weekend and beg. Gwiazdor is big and needed a lot.

And Christmas and New Year’s are often times when people around us have a lot of their own needs. And these animals often take a backseat, which we 100% understand. And to be clear – we are incredibly grateful for your support throughout the year. Gwiazdor has been doing an incredible thing for many, many years, and some of you have been with us for 20 years.

Gwiazdor’s situation is difficult. Not only is it cold, the holidays are starting, and there are other expenses, and Gwiazdor doesn’t have time to wait. But I thought that initiatives like these, where we all chip in, in small amounts of $1,2,5 or 10, are a very good idea. And if you invite your friends, neighbors, and family to participate, it really does the trick.

And today, that’s exactly what I wanted to ask you to do – tell the world about Gwiazdor.

We’re currently short $830 for Gwiazdor, and the $331 I’m writing about is less urgent, but still important.

Because today we wanted to raise money for things that, compared to Gwiazdor, might mean next to nothing, but are still needed. And we know that some of you are very interested in these things and can also sew, send, or ask a friend, company, or store for help.

We need warm neck warmers for the boys, because the frost is below par last year. Last year, they were satisfied with the light scarves we bought, but this year – especially at our center in Modlimów – it’s incredibly windy. The frost is intense and there’s a lot of snow.

That’s why today I wanted to ask you, first of all, to raise $331 for neck warmers and very thick, warm socks for the boys. Because they sometimes spend 12-18 hours outside. And sometimes 6, sometimes 7 days a week. We recently saw them darning old socks.

And of course, buying socks isn’t a big deal, but insulated socks don’t cost a dozen złoty anymore, they cost about $15 and $20. If you calculate two pairs for each boy, it really adds up. Because this isn’t about one person, but about all those who care for these almost 1,500 horses.

That’s why today’s campaign is twofold.
First and foremost, we’re raising money for Christmas Eve.
And secondly—which is obviously very important to our boys, but they understand that Christmas Eve comes first—we’re raising money for socks and cowls.
